Cataloging & Classification Services
The Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Fuat SEZGİN Library employs the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules 2 (AACR2) for cataloging information resources and the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) schedules for their classification.
For its cataloging operations, the library utilizes the SirsiDynix automation system, which also facilitates circulation (loan and return) procedures. Once the cataloging process is complete, books undergo labeling, barcoding, and the application of security strips. After all processing is finalized, the books are placed on the shelves to be made available to users. Our users can access the bibliographic information of library resources 24/7 from anywhere in the world via our website.
Cataloging and Classification Services are carried out in three stages:
Accessioning: Resources to be added to the collection are first assigned an accession number and stamped with the library seal.
Cataloging: The cataloging process is performed within the library automation system.
Final Processing: Once cataloging is finished, labels, barcodes, and security strips are attached, and the resources are placed on the shelves for user access.
