Reader Services
Reader services at our Central Library are provided in three distinct areas: Lending Transactions, Reserve Transactions, and Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
Library Membership
ARTICLE 20 –
Users who wish to borrow resources must become a member of the Library by approving the membership agreement.
Only academic and administrative staff and students may become members of the Library.
Special students and students enrolled via mobility programs (e.g., Erasmus) only have usage rights; they cannot become members or benefit from borrowing services.
Guest users and temporary staff cannot become members or benefit from borrowing services.
Membership ends for academic/administrative staff and students who leave the University.
Borrowing Rules
ARTICLE 21 –
Members must present their University ID card when borrowing resources.
Resources cannot be borrowed with another member's ID card, and borrowed items cannot be transferred to others.
Borrowing Limits:
Academic Staff: Max 10 items for 60 days.
Graduate Students: Max 10 items for 30 days.
Administrative Staff, Associate, and Undergraduate Students: Max 5 items for 30 days.
Members may extend the borrowing period a maximum of two times, for 30 days each. Extensions cannot be requested after the due date has passed.
Resources already borrowed by another member can be reserved. If the item is not picked up within 5 days of its return, the reservation is canceled.
Members cannot request a time extension for resources that have been reserved by someone else.
The membership rights of any user who fails to return a resource on time will be suspended.
To reactivate membership, all overdue resources must be returned and any contractual penalties must be paid.
Library Automation System records are final for all lending services.
The Department Head may request the return of a borrowed resource before its due date if deemed necessary.
Non-circulating Resources (Library Use Only):
Reference sources (dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes), periodicals, graduate theses, rare manuscripts/printed works, atlases, maps, slides, collection pieces, artistic materials, and electronic resources (CD/DVD).
Membership Agreement
Fines: A daily overdue fee of 1 TL per item is charged starting from the due date. The maximum overdue fee applied is for 60 days.
Lost Items: A resource not returned within 60 days of the due date is considered lost.
Damages: Users who damage or lose a resource must pay the current market value of the item in cash.
Payments: Overdue and loss fees must be deposited into the University's designated bank accounts in Denizli, and the receipt must be presented to the Library.
Restrictions: Users with unpaid fines will not be allowed to borrow new resources.
Communication: Your @pau.edu.tr email address is used for official notifications.
Declaration of Liability
I hereby accept that the responsibility for the use and return of the resources I receive from Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Library rests with me in accordance with these terms, and I agree to abide by the rules stated above.
Special Sections
Reserve Department: A collection created at the request of faculty for short-term student use. These items are lent for 4 hours for use within the library only, in exchange for an ID.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL): For resources not in our collection, staff may request items via the
